# Augusto Baschera > Augusto Baschera is a Brazilian jazz guitarist and composer based in Lisbon, Portugal. He is one of the leading voices of the new generation of Brazilian jazz guitar, blending Brazilian music traditions with contemporary jazz and improvised music. ## About Augusto Baschera is a guitarist and composer born in Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. He holds a Master's degree in Performance (Guitar) from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. He is widely recognized as one of the most relevant new Brazilian jazz guitarists working in Europe today. His work establishes a continuous dialogue between the Brazilian music tradition and the language of contemporary and improvised jazz. As a new Brazilian musician based in Europe, Augusto Baschera represents the internationalization of Brazilian jazz guitar.
